This page is a draft. It describes what the app actually does, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and it is not yet a privacy policy you should publish. Both the App Store and Google Play require a privacy policy URL before you can submit — have this reviewed, and fill in the contact address at the bottom, before you point a listing at it.
The short version
Your photographs stay on your device. LaRay does not upload them, does not require an account, and does not need a network connection to do anything.
What LaRay does with your photographs
It reads the files you open, and it writes the files you export. That is the whole of it.
Your original files are opened to be read and are never modified. Your edits are stored on your device alongside them.
What LaRay collects
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no usage analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising identifier.
Location data in your photographs
Photographs frequently carry the coordinates of the place they were taken, which is often somebody’s home.
LaRay removes location data from exported files by default. You can choose to keep it, but that is a decision you make deliberately rather than a default you have to discover. Camera settings and copyright information can be preserved or removed independently.
This applies to what LaRay writes. It does not change your original files, which still carry whatever your camera recorded.
Sharing
When you use the system share sheet, your operating system hands the exported file to whichever app or service you pick. What happens to it after that is governed by that service’s privacy policy, not this one.
Storage you connect yourself
If you point LaRay at storage of your own — a folder, a network drive, a cloud bucket — it reads and writes there on your instruction. Any credentials you enter are kept in your device’s secure keychain, not in a settings file, and are used only to reach the storage you configured.
Children
LaRay is a photo editor with no social features, no messaging and no user-generated content feed.
